AV1 · Built for slow internet
Anime in 80 MB.
Not 1.5 GB.
We re-encode anime with AV1 so people on 2G, capped data plans and rural connections can actually watch it. Same 1080p picture, a fraction of the bytes.
The problem
3 billion people can't stream HD.
Average internet speed across India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh and most of Africa stays under 20 Mbps — and mobile data costs up to 15% of monthly income. A single 1080p episode at 1.5 GB chews through 30% of a 5 GB plan.
Three episodes can wipe out a month of data. So most fans simply don't watch — or settle for unwatchable 240p re-uploads.
The fix
AV1 compresses what H.264 wastes.
Built by Google, Netflix, Amazon and Apple. Smarter prediction, scene-aware quantization, and a much larger toolset than legacy codecs — same picture, far less data.
Each release is re-encoded with tuned AV1 presets — grain-aware, scene-aware.
VMAF and SSIM checks confirm the output is visually identical to the source.
Direct downloads in 360p / 480p / 720p / 1080p — pick what your data allows.
Same episode. Different reality.
- ~3 hours to download on 2 Mbps
- 3 episodes ≈ entire monthly data plan
- Buffers constantly under 5 Mbps
- Under 10 minutes on 2 Mbps
- 15× more episodes per GB
- Streams clean on 2G/3G
